I have been silenced.

Posted by TheMason Jul. 6, 2009 @ 8:29 AM EDT

On 21 June I posted in a climate change BBS. About an hour later I thought I'd log back onto NG and see if anyone had posted.

But it was blocked due to 'adult' content. As some of you may know, for the past six months I have been serving overseas. Back in April I was able to access the internet in my quarters and resumed posting.

But then NG was blocked. So I haven't been on, and I've missed posting.

So I don't know if this is temporary thing, or if I'll be able to keep posting until I come home later this month.

Just heard the blonde chick on Fox & Friends refer to Britain's Got Talent as America's Got Talent...in Britain.

Just thought it was funny.

Anyway, Cheers!

TheMason_in_

Posted by TheMason Dec. 31, 2008 @ 7:14 PM EST

Some of my friends at work and school wanted to exchange e-mail addresses so we can communicate while I'm deployed. So I've decided that I'm going to join the ranks of the self-obsessed and start an email list so I can shotgun weekly updates and pictures of me in the desert.

So...

Thank you and HAPPY FUCKING NEW YEAR NEWGROUNDS!!!!

Why I haven't been on much lately...

Posted by TheMason Dec. 15, 2008 @ 12:11 PM EST

...I've been tired and busy.

So I win a legal fight with my ex-wife about my place in my daughter's life. I even meet this awesome girl and get a girlfriend. Life is going good, right?

Then I get the call. Sometime between 7 and 15 January I will be leaving on a jet plane to deploy to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. I'm not going to Iraq or Afghanistan, but I still have to put my life on hold for the next 4-6 months. So yeah I have a comfortable little life going. But I'm not complaining, I look forward to the challenge and the chance to finally get some sand in my boots.

Not complaining...just letting my NG friends know why I haven't been my usual posting self. :)

New World Order: Ask an Insider!

Posted by TheMason Nov. 25, 2008 @ 7:00 PM EST

Oh happy news! I got another dispensation!

There is much negative press out there concerning things going on behind the scenes. So I am now allowed to answer questions!

So feel free to PM me with your questions and I'll answer them here! I'm even thinking of starting a NWO crew (how else are you going to get into the lucky 500,000?)! In your PMs tell me if you want your question posted as "anonymous" or if you're fine with me attributing you publicly! :)

I just created the New World Order Insiders of NG Crew. Now that I have been exposed my Over-Lord has given me dispensation to be an agent of positive press! :)

The REAL Election

Posted by TheMason Nov. 18, 2008 @ 10:50 PM EST

Okay so I got the e-mail today granting me special dispensation to tell the story of what really happened on 2 November 2008.

We had a joint meeting between Ancient, Free & Accepted Freemasons (majority Caucasian) and Prince Hall Assembly Freemasons (majority African-American). In attendence were both candidates who pledged their loyalty to Over-Emperor Xenu. We were treated to a holo-vid address by the Over-Emperor. We did not have the requisit technology but right before we were about to start the proceedings two reptillian techs (see the pic I took) escorted a gray into our Lodge with the holo-vid projector (it was the same one used on CNN on "election night"). The Over-Emperor told us that this was indeed the election of "change" and gave us the glorious news that soon the pyramid on the back of the dollar will be completed. Our time is not the same as the Over-Emperor's, but it seemed like he was hinting that I will live to see the day that US dollars will bear the Great Seal WITH the disembodied eye connected to the rest of the Pyramid!

But I digress.

So it came down to a tie on who would be the next servant...er...President. So since I was the only Mason present who is a member of both Masonic Grand Lodges it was up to me to deliver the tie-breaker. Now I had already sent in my absentee ballot for the "general" election where I had voted for McCain. But the Over-Emperor's words had stirred something deep within me so I cast my ball for Obama.

So after the meeting I had one more make-out session with Palin and then boarded the plane with Obama and headed to Chicago. Since then things have been pretty busy...vetting cabinet positions is tough work.

Speaking of work...we're figuring out who will be SecDef. We're down to a few potential candidates. I think we should keep Gates but there are some people saying we need to pick McCain or Kerry or this retired flag officer no one has heard of. If only we were as monolithic as conspiracy theorists think we are! My job would be sooo much easier!

Anyway, back to the grind!

SWEET VICTORY!!!!

Posted by TheMason Nov. 6, 2008 @ 5:04 PM EST

Okay I haven't even posted on the BBS as much as I expected to in the lead-up to the election. The reason: I stepped into a court house with my ex...and WON!

My ex-wife's obstruction of me contacting my daughter has been removed. I have to attend "return & reunion therapy" with my daughter because it has been over two years since I have seen her. This should take about six months...but then I get standard out-of-state visitation with her. This has been something that has consumed my attention over the past few weeks.

So short update...maybe I'll have something to say about the election soon.

Ugh

Posted by TheMason Oct. 14, 2008 @ 7:55 PM EDT

In 1992 Saturday Night Live ran a skit that depicted Chelsea Clinton as ugly...a dog. Even though I really disliked her father being president I did not find this skit to be in good taste. I don't think family should be part of a political attack on any politician regardless of party.

With one exception: a spouse or adult child to engages in politics.

But children especially should be taboo. Similarly, racist and sexist humor is just as distasteful.

So then today a democratic friend sends this (NOTE: the following link is offensive) link to me. It seriously offended me. How can anyone find that funny?

There is also an element of hypocrisy here. I'm being slightly hypocritical because I do not like political correctedness...but at least I'm not calling for censorship. But I find it to be highly hypocritical of liberals who find this funny. I could not send a similarly distasteful joke about Obama's race.

So that is really what is bothering me. People can call into question Palin's ability to serve as VP because she has a special needs kid. They can make fun of Trig. But what if I said that Obama cannot lead because he is black? What if I made fun of his daughters? I would be branded a monster...yet Palin's vagina is open for ridicule.

Now I know I have defended Palin in the past. But I view Palin the same way I view Obama: two politicians who have great potential...but are running for an office that neither are prepared for. There...you have it. Mason has just conceded that Palin erodes, to an extent, the experience argument. The argument still stands because Palin is the VP and the Obama is the President. But it is very weakened.

Oh well...

Crisis

Posted by TheMason Oct. 14, 2008 @ 1:41 AM EDT

I may be confusing my Chinese proverbs...but I believe that the Chinese word for "Crisis" is made up by the Chinese symbols for "Chaos" and "Opportunities".

And so I have been playing the stock market. This year a portion of my GI Bill and income from Barnes & Noble is being deposited into my Scottrade Account. The stocks I'm buying:

Fannie Mae
Freddie Mac
Lehman Brothers

Yes I know, these are the banks at the heart of our current financial woes. However, Fannie and Freddie are basically the federal government manifested as publicly traded corporations. What this means is if they fail...then we are all f----d. So I've bought in at $0.40 to $0.90/share and within a week I was able to pull out my initial (meager) investment after tripling it once the stock hit over $2.00/share.

Same thing with Lehman Brothers, here's a bank that survived the Civil War and the Great Depression. It is currently hovering around $0.10/share and it is restructuring itself. So I think there is reason to expect it will regain at least half of its 52-wk high value of around $70-80/share.

So while, yes, there is significant risk...there is also great potential for reward if you can enjoy the financial rollercoaster ride!

It Is Done

Posted by TheMason Oct. 10, 2008 @ 7:20 PM EDT

Well I sent in my absentee ballot today. FOX and CNN are reporting on ACORN's activities in which they are turning-in bad voter registration cards. The CNN reporter went to one address on the card looking for Jimmy Johns...and sure enough it was the sub shop. I guess I kinda took it as a sign. My hesitancy in voting for Obama comes from his activities with this group in the past (efforts which actually directly contributed to the sub-prime meltdown).

So I voted for McCain.

But as I drove to get my ballot envelope notarizied I thought about how this was a vote for the lesser evil. I hope, on the off-chance McCain wins, I don't regret this one...but I think I'd regret a vote for Obama more. Ahhh...the American election!
